Welcome to Bella Wedding Photography....
Hello and a virtual welcome!
A little about us...
My name is Kim and I have been shooting photos for longer than I can remember...or care to admit! The pictures below on this page aren't pro (well not all of them) but I wanted to show the real family...we have some not-so-hot cell selfies too! They make up my family. They tell our story. They remind us of days gone by, but memories fade and time flies, so we get it....they are important to us... just like yours are to you!
On a personal note, I'm married, love gardening & roses, motorcycle rides with my hubby and our fur babies....our other babies are grown now and we have the cutest grandkids you will ever see! (just saying lol). One is even breaking into the modeling industry (the firey red head you see) and her mom is one of our photographers! To say we are a creative family would be an understatement! One daughter is a portrait artist...she can draw a face like I can take a photo of one! Her boyfriend is an awesome photographer in his own right and has been doing creative and cutting edge work with area models for quite some time, and he also shoots with us! One daughter is a marketing guru and lives in Phoenix (I sure miss her, but got to visit for 3 weeks this past summer & I got some great desert shots!) My son, who is a talented guitar player, knows his was around photoshop. He has been working on learning this business with us by assisting on shoots and the like, it has indeed become a family effort. As a matter of fact my husband's grandfather owned the original Harms Photography in Follansbee many years ago....the torch has been passed. I sure miss talking shop with him!
The back story...
My cousin and I began a video production company back in the late 90s, we did everything from weddings to training videos for local mills and projects for area high school/universities. I then decided to go to nursing school and was a floor nurse for over a decade (& I still keep my license current...kudos to the medical professionals in todays world and a big thank you!) It was then that I moved into still photography. I continued doing both nursing and photography on the side. I had a booth at a home and garden show when a well known local studio approached me about coming to shoot for them...a dream job! I learned alot and you may have seen me on a field taking sports pictures! We also did area proms, class photos etc. I don't miss the hot ball fields, I do miss the wonderful people! I left the studio in 2018 and in 2020 my "no compete" contract was up! But....
The Covid Lockdown...
Yes, lockdown was on! So I was home and decided it was now or never if I wanted to get back into photography full time. So I started planning, and learning even more about photography, photoshop, lightroom than my 2 decades had already taught me...and beefing up my gear...shopping yeah! I also started shooting family and friends to rebuild my portfolio and website, & doing all the back end boring, but necessary, parts of running a business.
Moving forward...
On this sight you will see some of my older photos and some of my latest. I am open to engaging with clients to experiment in styles (I love the more lifestyle airy photos that have become so popular) But I can still shoot traditional and even bring my "in home" studio to your home complete with backdrops...and we don't need much space! And yes I'm fully vaccinated, masked up and ready to shoot!
Since I know my way around a chapel and wedding venue, I knew I wanted to get back into engagements and weddings as well. And believe it or not, I love editing (my husband has to pull me away from the computer sometimes to give my eyes a break!) I love restoring old photos, color correcting, retouching and most of all album design.... I feel it is creating a family heirloom!
I reached out to the talented people around me to see if they would be interested in being a 2nd shooter at weddings with me to build a "team"....I feel if one is good...two is way better! Your sure to have that back up shot on your most special day! Having diversity in shots is another great advantage to 2 photographers. So I knew going back in I wanted that "team" effort! We would love to capture those precious memories with you and become part of your team & special day!
So look around the site, bring me your wish list and contact me if you would like more info...
As I have said for years, memories fade and time flies! Let's capture yours ...
